I was in the studio to do some portraits of my girlfriend over the bank holiday for her website. If you didn't already know, my girlfriend (or as she normally likes to be called, Debbie) makes and sellings little and sometimes not so little soft toy animals. From bunnies to ponies, and sometimes even Pokemon as well, each creature is hand crafted by her, from cutting out the fabric to putting in the last little bits of stuffing before it's shipped they're shipped off to their new homes. Anyway, she wanted some nice pictures of her taking for her website that's currently in the construction stages. And I thought I'd be nice just to take some of her anyway, because I'm just a nice boyfriend who happens to be a photographer so who better to do that job!
Portraits, especially head shots, are a great way to show who you are and what you're about to potential clients, particularly when they're given some context like this one, taken with some of her products and tools of her trade. It's also always nice to give a face to your business, so people know who they're contacting and who the brains behind the business are!
If you're interested in learning more about Debbie, Tiny Tea Party and her range of hand crafted toys, head over to www.tiny-tea-party.com,tiny-tea-party.deviantart.com/ orwww.etsy.com/uk/shop/thetinyte… for more information and to get in touch with her!
My Little Niece Emily!
Whenever I new piece of gear, or I have a new technique I want to try out I'm glad I always have willing victims to take part! Having an older sister with children is great: I get to try out new techniques and new bits of gear I get my hands on, and she gets free photography of her kids.
I borrowed a lovely lens off of one of my friends and fellow photographer for a wedding I am shooting tomorrow, the lens is a Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8. But before that, and while I had the time to use it, I thought I'd test it out just to get a feel of it! I instantly loved it!! Shooting at 200mm, at f/2.8 is the best thing ever, it gives the nicely blurry backg
Edith The Bunny: Pet Portrait!
Over the weekend I took some pictures of products for my girlfriend, who makes and sells soft toys online (you can check out her work here: http://tiny-tea-party.deviantart.com and if you're interested you can order her toys, and also require custom projects from here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/thetinyteaparty). She also recently bought a new pet rabbit, so we decided to do some nice little pet portraits of the bunny as well! Edith (that's the rabbit's name!) is very excitable, and was hopping up and down the garden before she settled on a nice spot to sit down and be ready for the camera. I have to say, she is one of the easiest subjects I'v
New website!
Hello!
So, after much deliberating and looking around, I finally decided to go ahead with making a new website. My old website (www.jamiedentonphotography.com) was a Blogger based website, which was great for a while, but after having it for a year and not really getting picked up by search engines it wasn't delivering as much work as I would have hoped. I had heard a lot of great things about a hosting and website creating site called Squarespace (I promise you, this isn't a plug to them!) and decided to sign up! So my new website is now www.jamiedentonphotography.co.uk, and the .com version will soon be going out of use. One thing I loved
Something a little different...
Hello!
If you're reading this, it means you've stumbled across my Deviant Art page! And possibly it's look a little bare, but do not fear! In the coming months, as we enter into the seasons of nicer weather (fingers cross anyway as I am in the UK) I shall be out and about with my camera taking many, many pictures. I want to expand the areas of photography I work in, such as starting to do more landscape photography in order to possibly start producing prints that will be for sale in the very near future.
Expect some photographs and updates soon!
Thanks!
